On Friday January 7^th, Mrs. Edith Ursula Grete Lucas of Oliver passed away suddenly at the South Okanagan General Hospital at the age of 84 years.

Graveside service for the late Edith Lucas will be held on Tuesday January 18^th at 2:00 pm, at the Oliver Municipal Cemetery.

Edith was predeceased by her husband Christoph, daughters Rosemary and Elke, as well as close friends Kaj Falkenholt and George McFee. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Christopher in Australia and her siblings in Germany Herta, Irmgard, Karl-Heinz (dec), Wilhelm (dec), Rudolf, Gunther and Gerhard. She will be sadly missed by extended family, friends in B.C., Alberta and abroad as well as by many neighbours and friends in Oliver.

Edith was born in Massow, Germany on February 13, 1937. Edith emigrated to Canada from Germany in 1956. She married Christoph shortly after in Calgary. They moved to Oliver in 1958 and set up the OK Tire business and established an orchard.

Edith was a passionate orchardist and loved her extensive vegetable and flower garden. Edith was the most generous, kind and considerate friend and neighbour.
