On Monday, March 22, 2021,

Donna Jean McRae of Christian

Valley, formerly Osoyoos, passed

away peacefully surrounded by

family, after a brief battle with

cancer at the age 73. She was predeceased by her husband

Ken and father Glenn Tweedy.

Donna will be fondly remembered by her loving family

including mother Iris; son Cameron; daughter Jen (John);

grandchildren Carlin, Conner, Hannah and Lianne; sisters

Rhonda (Ken) and Bonnie (Greg); nieces and nephews;

great nieces and nephews as well as many cousins.

She worked in broadcasting prior to returning to Osoyoos

to raise her children and be closer to family, following

Ken’s passing in 1975. She also worked for Tweedy Props

and drove truck.

Donna was very involved in her community and

volunteered with the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 173,

dedicated many years on the executive and organizing

events including the original Cherry Pit Spit at the annual

Canada Day Cherry Fiesta in Osoyoos.

She enjoyed curling, gardening, cards, crossword puzzles,

American politics, reading and spending time with family.

Donna was brilliant, kind hearted, super cool, had a great

sense of humour and was a woman who gave the best

hugs. She is loved and will be missed by all.

She lived her dream the last three years living in a cabin in

the woods in the Christian Valley.

Donna’s family would like to thank Dr. Calder and the

staff at SOGH for the compassionate care provided to her

during her final days.
