Donald George Lesmeister

February 26, 1952 – October 27, 2021

Donald George Lesmeister passed away suddenly in his home on October 27th, 2021.  He was born in Meadow Lake, SK, on February 26th, 1952 and moved to Oliver in 1964 with his family.  After graduating from SOSS, he settled in Vancouver. He began working with the CNR as a switchman and stayed with the company until his retirement.

Don enjoyed playing his guitar (every day), painting, scuba diving, fly fishing, water skiing and golf.  He rode his bicycle everywhere and loved camping while travelling.

He is very much missed by his siblings, Darlene (Mike) Dolan, David (Christine), Debora (Mike) Johnson and Gerald (Sheila); nieces and nephews, Chandra, Chloe, Amber, Craig, Michelle, Leigh, Dustin and Kaylee and great nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Luke and Angie Lesmeister.

The loss of his crazy sense of humour, epic story telling rants, and being the subject of many family lores will make our lives just a little less colourful.  He and his antics will be missed terribly, but we will always laugh with the the retelling of his adventures.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Frank Venebles Theatre Lobby by invitation.  Interment at the Oliver Cemetery will be private.  Donations in his memory can be given to the B.C. Cancer Foundation. Condolences and tributes may be left for the family by visiting www.nunes-pottinger.com
