On Wednesday, December 21, 2022, Mrs. Barbara Elta MacKinnon of Osoyoos passed away peacefully with her husband by her side at Mariposa Gardens at the age of 89 years.

She was predeceased by her son, Philip in 2014; her brothers, Bob and Eldon and sisters, Celia and Blanche.

Barb will be fondly remembered by her loving husband, Bill; her son, Roger (Brenda); daughter-in-law Janice; grandchildren; Kevin (Sandra), Ryan, Thera (Delvi), and Stacy (Otto); great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Nicholas, Evan, Bethanny, Isabel and Jacob as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

She worked for many years at Sears and the Bethany Centre as an accountant in Calgary.

Barb was also a CGIT leader for many years as well as an active member of the Baptist Church while in Calgary. Barb became a member of the Osoyoos United Church in Osoyoos and a Thrift Shop volunteer. She loved the atmosphere and camaraderie of the Thrift Shop.

Barb and Bill loved to travel and had many memorable vacations in Spain, Cuba, Hawaii and Mexico. They loved travelling in their RV across Canada and the US visiting friends and relatives.

Barb was an avid bridge player and also enjoyed lawn bowling, curling, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, RV’ing and participating in yoga, with an occasional trip to the casino where she experienced quite a bit of luck. Barb also enjoyed her white wine on occasion.
