Americo Dinis passed away on February 28, 2022, after a long battle with cancer at the age of 81 years.

He was predeceased by his parents, José and Maria Altina Dinis and three siblings

Americo will be forever remembered by his loving wife, Maria; daughters, Isabel (Lorenzo) Stea and Christine Dinis (Rehbein); grandchildren, Andrea Stea, Jessica Stea and Donovan Rehbein; two sisters in France and Portugal; and many nieces and nephews in New York, France, and Portugal.

Americo immigrated to Canada with his wife, Maria, and daughter, Isabel, from France. Christine was born shortly after they arrived. They were hard working Orchardists for 17 years. He traveled to his niece Anita’s wedding in Queens, New York where his brother, Aires, lived. He also traveled to Portugal. He was a very avid grape grower and took great pride in his work. His innovations will be greatly missed by all.

A Funeral Mass was held on Monday, March 7, 2022, at Christ the King Catholic Church, with Fr. Thomas Kakkaniyal celebrating. Interment followed at the Oliver Municipal Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations are graciously accepted to the BC Cancer Agency.
