January 10, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Adrienne Pauline Cleave at South Okanagan General Hospital on January 10, 2023 after a courageous 15-month battle with lung cancer. She was 73 years old.

Adrienne was born January 29th, 1949 in Alfreton, Derbyshire, England. She is survived by her beloved husband of almost 53 years, Richard, brothers Martin and Chris, children Barbara (Mark) and Robert (Gisele), and her four “perfect” grandchildren, Katie, Hannah, Nolan and Rory, along with a large extended family in England and many friends.

Adrienne immigrated to Canada in 1972 and was fiercely proud to be Canadian. She and her husband settled first in Grand Forks and then in the South Okanagan, where they raised their children and spent many years working in the wine industry. Adrienne’s passion was quilting, and she enjoyed being a member of the Double O Quilters in Oliver. Adrienne was also an avid reader, and loved camping, travelling, walking her yellow Lab, Murphy, and spending time with her grandchildren. It brought her great joy to spend her 70th birthday in Maui with her family. She will be sorely missed by those who loved her.

A Celebration of Life will be planned for the last weekend of May at the family residence in Osoyoos. All friends and family members are welcome. Date and time to be announced.
