The Danced Studio in Oliver has a talented group of performers, but now they’ve also got 31 gold medals to prove it.

Last week studios’s performance squad competed The View Challenge Dance Competition in Maple Ridge.

Twelve local dancers ages 7 to 15 took 31 dance routines to compete against the top dance studios in the Lower Mainland.

They brought home not only more experience, but also 31 gold medals for ballet, hip hop, lyrical, jazz, musical theatre and tap, as well as many high score awards.

Jessa Vernon-Wood received high score and 3rd place for her solo tap routine and high score & 2nd place for her jazz solo.

Deirdre Shaw received high score and 3rd place for her hip hop solo.

Kayla Barisoff received high score and 2nd place for her jazz solo.

Sara Bousfield received high score and 1st place for her tap solo.

Sophia Barbieri received high score and 2nd place for her tap solo.

Kristina Decker received high score and 2nd place for her lyrical solo.

The studio’s two “Classic Men” Sam Bailey and Joey Decker not only received high score and 2nd place for their tap duo, but they were only 0.07 per cent away from receiving high gold.

The studio’s next stop is the Great Canadian Dance Challenge in Kelowna from May 16 – 20.
