Nominees announced for first ODAC awards ceremony

The Osoyoos and District Arts Council (ODAC) has announced the nominees for its inaugural annual awards dinner on Sept. 4.

Nominees were selected for three categories:

The Arts and Culture Engagement Award recognizes individuals, businesses and non-profits that promote arts and culture. Nominees are Sharon Leonard, Lorraine Gibson, Osoyoos Home Hardware, Mills Office Productivity, Jojo’s Café, Osoyoos Medical Centre, Music in the Park and the Osoyoos Blues Society.

The ODAC Member Leadership Award will go to a member-in-good-standing who exhibits leadership through participation in and contribution to Osoyoos arts and culture. Nominees are Sue Whittaker, Darlene Fillion, Jean Burt, Joe Trosky, Tony Brummett and Sandra Albo.

The Osoyoos and Area Showcase Award highlights individuals, businesses and non-profits that showcase and promote the Osoyoos community and local culture, past, present and future, through subject matter specific to Osoyoos and area. Nominees are Richard McGuire and Sannah Fletcher.

The awards dinner is at 6 p.m. on Sept. 4 at McKia’s Restaurant. Tickets are $18 for ODAC members, $22 for non-members, and available at the Art Gallery Osoyoos and Mills Office
Productivity.
