The Oliver Lions Club finally has a place to call home.
The Lions Club has found a permanent facility to host regular meetings and other events at 6431 Okanagan St. in Oliver, in the home of the Oliver Lutheran Centre.
President Joanne Bray and Secretary/Treasurer Linda Shaffrick showed off the new digs to the Chronicle last week. The longtime Lions members were busy making last minute preparations by hanging banners and positioning the many Lions mascots around the new basement dwelling.
There are many photo albums to look at and banners from around the world.
“I know how many there are, because I hung every one of them,” quipped Bray.
Today (Tuesday), the Lions will host an Open House from noon until 8 p.m.
The public is welcome to come down, meet new members, and check out the new facility the Oliver Lions Club calls home.
The Oliver Lions Club host regular meetings the first Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m.
