The 21st annual Meadowlark Nature Festival kicks off Thursday and runs until Monday with tours to natural wonders around the South Okanagan.
Several events take place near Osoyoos.
Some tours were sold out, but nearby locations include:
• Sage and Sparrow Conservation Area;
• Spotted Lake (Kililxw);
• The Burrowing Owl breeding facility and SORCO north of Oliver;
• Snakes Alive! At the Nk’Mip Desert Cultural Centre.
Most events have a fee ranging from $5 to $150.
The Meadowlark Nature Festival offers more than 75 tours including hiking, cycling, canoeing, historical tours, astronomy events, art exhibitions, Aboriginal events, and photography and painting workshops.
The tours are led by experts in their fields including biologists, botanists, herpetologists, entomologists, artists, traditional knowledge keepers and adventurists.
