-Police not ruling out connections to other Valley heists-

OSOYOOS TIMES-April 15, 2009-Police said a man entered the Osoyoos CIBC through a back door at about 1 p.m. on April 13 and handed a bank teller a note instructing her to give him money. The teller handed over a small amount of cash. The suspect then left the bank without producing a weapon or uttering any threats beyond the note itself. Police were called and several members, including backup from other detachments, responded. A police dog could not pick up the suspect’s scent trail. RCMP spokesman Cpl. Mike Field couldn’t say if the robbery might be connected to other bank hold-ups earlier this month in Penticton and Kelowna.
It’s always a consideration. We don’t know at this time, he said. The matter is still under investigation and of course we’ll look at any comparisons or similarities.
The suspect is described as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark sunglasses and being in his mid-to-late 20s and standing about five-foot-seven in height.
No one at the bank was available for comment before press time.
