It may not be midsummer just yet but on Saturday, May 11, the South Okanagan Similkameen Pride Society (SOS Pride) invites members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ and allies to take part in a mid-spring night’s dream at their first evening dance, A Night of Magic & Revelry.
The evening’s theme “embraces the magic of the forest and all of its enchanting creatures,” SOS Pride said in their event release.
Keremeos’s Grist Mill and Gardens will act as the magical forest, with twinkle lights strung around the ornamental gardens to evoke the presence of tiny mythical partygoers and a large tent to protect revellers from the elements.
Along with music provided by DJ Decadance, who brings an eclectic playlist of hits from every era, attendees can look forward to entertainment from MC Carl Meadows and both hot and cold appetizer tables provided by the venue. The cash bar will feature non-alcoholic fruit sodas and alcoholic ciders from Lass Chance Beverage Co. and wines from Clos du Soleil Winery.
Attendees will also have a chance to win one of several door prizes donated by businesses local to Keremeos and Cawston, and the Orchard View Motel is offering a $20 discount for out-of-towners who need a place to stay once the party has wound down.
Tickets for A Night of Magic and Revelry Dance are $35 and cover the dance, food, and water, tea or coffee for the night. They can be purchased online at sospride.ca/upcoming-events.
Orchard View Motel’s $20 discount can be accessed by using the discount code Dance when booking online for May 11 at orchardviewmotel.com.
