A temporary solution has been identified to solve a water supply problem at Loose Bay campground.
Area C director Allan Patton reported that Covert Farms has made the decision to no longer supply the campground with water. Liability and insurance issues are behind this decision, Patton said.
Loose Bay campground on Secrest Hill Road hosts many migrant workers every summer.
Patton said they plan to truck water in and store it on site. The long-term solution may be to connect to the Town’s water supply via a pump at Sportsmen’s Bowl Road, he stated.
Patton said MLA Linda Larson and local service clubs are lending their assistance.
“We’ll be keeping Loose Bay open this year,” Patton confirmed.
