The weekend also marked exciting milestones for several athletes. Yael and Tiffany proudly stepped onto the competitive ice for the very first time, showing bravery and composure in their debut performances, according to Coach Fortunato. Beth competed in the Star 4 category for the first time, going for her Axel attempt in competition and delivering a strong combination spin in her program.
Collectively, the team earned two Gold, four Silver, and five Bronze finishes, along with 3 personal best performances. Beyond the podium finishes, each skater gained valuable competitive experience and demonstrated excellent sportsmanship throughout the event.
Head Coach Patricia Fortunato shared, “I am incredibly proud of how our skaters represented the Sun Bowl Skating Club this weekend. From first-time competitors to seasoned athletes, each skater showed resilience, courage, and a willingness to push themselves outside their comfort zones. The growth we saw on and off the ice is what truly makes weekends like this so special.”
Community members will have the opportunity to see the club’s talent showcased at the Sun Bowl Skating Club’s year-end ice show, “Treasures are Forever”, taking place at Sun Bowl Arena on Thursday, March 12 at 6 p.m. The evening will celebrate the hard work and achievements of skaters from all programs throughout the season.
“The coaches and club community look forward to continuing to build on this momentum as the season progresses,” Fortunato said.
