Dear Editor:
I would like to thank the staff from the Town of Osoyoos for selecting the name I submitted in relation to recent official naming of the town’s new marina.
I would also like to thank town planning technician Phil Armstrong, who was very thoughtful to phone me and made sure I was present at the unveiling of the name for the new marina a month ago.
It was extremely hot by noon that day, somewhere in the neighbourhood of 35 degrees, so thanks for the bottled water that was made available to everyone who participated in this event.
When the new sign for the marina was unveiled, it was absolutely beautiful.
Desert Sunrise Marina is the new name and having those words printed over a graphic showing the sun with pointed sunrays indicating a beautiful South Okanagan sunrise makes for an excellent emblem.
No wonder the sun was shining so bright that day as it promises to shine brightly for years to come at the new marina.
Thanks once again to everyone at town hall for allowing me to be part of this process.
