Hello, everybody. It has been another busy month for the Osoyoos Royalty team.

Every Friday evening in January, we volunteered at the Elks Hall, helping with bingo calls.

There were lots of laughs and we enjoyed the excitement of the winners.

Our Royalty team volunteered at the annual Snowflake Tea at the United Church on the afternoon of January 25.

Princess Viveka and I helped serve goodies, tea and coffee to some very wonderful people in our community. That evening, we went to the Grand Night event in our ball gowns, where we helped meet and greet people.

The Grand Night was held at the Watermark Beach Resort, with a formal dinner, dance and silent auction.

All proceeds went towards the Safe Home Project and other programs at Desert Sun Counselling. The Grand Night was absolutely beautiful and a very sophisticated event.

We are so pleased to announce that, so far, we have four wonderful girls who have signed up to run in the Osoyoos Royalty program for this year.

If you are a girl in Grade 9, 10 or 11 (even Grade 12, if you plan to stay in Osoyoos for the next year!) and are interested in joining the Osoyoos Royalty, then you’re in luck.

There is still time to sign up.

If you want to brighten your future with many positive skills and gain a vast amount of knowledge about our community, as well as learn about other communities around B.C., then this program is for you.

Please contact Cathie Baskett at [email protected].

I have truly enjoyed every second of my time, so far, as Queen of Osoyoos, and I highly recommend this program to you.

Sign up and you won’t regret it for a second.
