Dear Editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to the readers of the Osoyoos Times.
I am the B.C. Liberal Party Candidate for the Provincial Election in May for this Boundary Similkameen riding.
I am currently a Town Councillor in Oliver and was the Mayor of Oliver from 1997 to 2005.
I am the Chair of the Board of Community Futures Okanagan Similkameen and also Chair the Provincial Community Future Board representing 34 Community Futures offices around the province.
I am the past Vice-Chair of the B.C. Small Business Roundtable (2005-2011) and was on the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement B.C. from 2006 to 2011.
My husband Larry and I, who have been married for 42 years, moved to Oliver in 1989 and bought the Eastside Grocery, then partnered in the Stedmans/V&S and finally owned Ruffled Edges until 2003.
We have three daughters and three grandchildren, with number four due in ApriI.
I have been a volunteer with the Sunnybank Ladies Auxiliary for 24 years, a member of WOW (former Soroptimist Club of Oliver) for 20 years and I have run a free muffin program at South Okanagan Secondary School in Oliver for the past 12 years.
The B.C. Liberals have a plan for this province that reflects my values of support for community and family, and a strong economy that is necessary to continue support for our health, education, and social programs.
Let’s not leave debt for our future generations.
I am looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible over the next few weeks and hearing what concerns you most in your community.
Linda Larson
B.C. Liberal Party
Oliver, B.C.
