Dear Editor:

I am using your paper to show my displeasure of the way the roadway was left near Road 12 south of Oliver, and wondering how many motorists share my view.

It seems ever since one cannot be discharged from the payroll without just cause, and just cause can be interpreted in different ways and means different things to different people, it has taken away all incentive to do a good job.

For workmen to leave a patch job in this state, in my mind needs mentioning. The foreman that was in charge of this project should hang his head in shame. The crew spent many more hours on this project than should have taken.

I live in Osoyoos and I travel this road several times a week, as do those working in Osoyoos who live in Oliver and vise versa. To me it means a slam to motorists, and I remind those responsible, the motorists are the reason you have a job.

The contractor that handled the Main Street project in Osoyoos made several pavement splices and they are all nice and smooth. It not rocket science; it is common sense, so this crew needs to go to work and do a day’s work for a day’s pay.

Every culvert that was installed this spring leaves a bump in the road. Is there no pride to be had in the workforce anymore?

Don Brady,

Osoyoos, B.C.
