On October 16, Interior Savings closed early to enable all 500 department, branch and insurance service employees the opportunity to go out into the community and make a difference.
“Our benchmark for success is whether we’ve made a positive difference in the lives of our members and in our communities,” said Kathy Conway, Interior Savings president and CEO.
The Oliver branch was closed at 2 pm to allow employees to participate in the “Day of Difference” by volunteering their time at the Okanagan Gleaners, an organization that processes dried soup mix to feed hungry people all over the world.
The Gleaners’ Jane Marcelet put the employees to work scraping off soup mix from the dryer trays. Interior Savings employees included Carly Haracka, Susan Alaric, Carol Thorne, Janet West, Maria Ferreira, Lisa Waines and Marly Lima.
