Two people reportedly suffered minor injuries during a two-vehicle collision on Highway 97 north of Oliver this afternoon.
When firefighters and police arrived, they observed two white vehicles at the intersection of Park Rill Road. One vehicle had front-end damage while the other had rear-end damage.
One person was seen taken into an ambulance on a stretcher.
Oliver Sgt. Don Wrigglesworth reported that one vehicle turning off of Park Rill failed to yield the right of way and was struck. He noted the drivers of both vehicles were transported to Oliver hospital with minor injuries. He added that charges under the Motor Vehicle Act are pending.
Near the end of that call, firefighters were then dispatched to Fairview Road for another accident involving a dirt bike rider (approximately nine kilometres west of Oliver). It was reported that a passerby brought the rider down to meet first responders closer to town.
The rider was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment of a possible broken ankle.
