Kuldeep Rai, owner of Indian Flame on Main, was lighting candles Tuesday to mark the start of Diwali. This festival of light and happiness is celebrated by most faiths in India, including the Sikhs, who represent most Indo-Canadians in the South Okanagan. Wednesday is the actual day of Diwali. The restaurant is doing a special meal for Diwali both Tuesday and Wednesday and is also open at lunch both days.
