Dear Editor:
I never thought I would find myself writing in praise of our local RCMP detachment, but when praise is due, I must comment.
I have noticed a significant change in the last two weeks in both police presence on the streets and the beaches and the atmosphere around the lakefront.
At the Art in the Park event this Saturday, the park was busy, the beach was crowded, but the general mood was playful and fun-filled.
There were families, young people, old folks like myself, a bicycle cop and – yes, French Canadians.
Everyone was well behaved and everyone was having a good time.
It made for a wonderful holiday weekend for all of the people who visited Osoyoos this past weekend.
The change from a month ago is remarkable and I can only conclude the town and the detachment’s enforcement policy is working.
Good on you for a job well done!
