The Oliver Fire Department (OFD) is hosting the Volunteer Firefighters Spring Training Seminar this weekend May 3-4 at the Oliver Community Park.

Firefighters gather from across BC, Alberta and Washington to participate in the two day intensive training program which includes 25 different stations such as Electric Vehicles, Fortis LNG and Aviation Incidents.

More than 400 firefighters, instructors and vendors representing 80 different fire departments descended on Oliver at the last spring training in 2023.

The pubic is invited to watch and training areas are open for public viewing at a safe distance (barricades will be place).

The Spring Training Seminar Firefighter After Party will take place on Saturday, May 3 at the Oliver Arena from 8-11:30 p.m. The event will feature local spirits from The Dubh Glas Distillery, wine from Quinta Ferreira Estate Winery and beer from Firehall Brewery. Drinks are $7/each or 3 for $20 for domestic beer and spirits. Entry is free for Emergency Service Personnel and $10 for the public.
