After four inches of snow fell in Osoyoos overnight, slick roads have resulted in two vehicle accidents this morning.

Around 9 a.m., RCMP and the Osoyoos Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 97 near 100 Ave.

A south-bound vehicle lost control and sideswiped a car in the oncoming lane, ending up in a nearby orchard, said fire chief Ryan McCaskill.

Drivers of the south-bound vehicle were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.

Just over three kilometres north, on Highway 97 near 89 Street, a semi truck lost control and drifted into an orchard.

There were no injuries, McCaskill said.

With icy road conditions, McCaskill is reminding drivers to take their time when travelling.

“Staying slow gets you there,” he said.
