The Osoyoos Health Centre is suspending day-to-day operations due to water damage caused by flooding.
Interior Health says the facility has relocated its services to the Sonora Community Centre where they can be accessed on an emergency basis. .
According to staff at the centre, there have been a few water leaks and the situation now requires more extensive maintenance to resolve the issue. There are also said to be concerns over mold relating to the flooding,
Phone services are still available at the Osoyoos Health Centre.
Patients of the Osoyoos Health Centre can contact the facility or their care team directly for more information about health services during this time.
Interior Health anticipates remediation work at the Osoyoos Centre will take approximately six months.
Temporary trailers are being installed on site for patients and staff and will be open early in April, it said.
Interior Health also said it will continue to communicate directly with patients about the location of their service.
The health authority said it is working closely with plant services, workplace health and safety, and infection control as well as the operational managers to ensure the space is comfortable and appropriate for patient care services while repairs to the site are completed.
