Grade 7 students from two local schools will be attending a leadership event Tuesday organized by Spirit of the Game Society.
The half-day Spirit of Leadership Forum is part of a two-day event focusing on leadership as well as local First Nations Culture.
The two schools invited are Osoyoos Elementary and Sen Pok Chin.
The forum is “an opportunity for young leaders to create a positive, exciting start to the school year and build relationships and bonds with other students and teachers,” said Mike Campol, chair of Spirit of the Game Society’s board in a news release.
The event is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at the Nk’Mip Conference Centre at Spirit Ridge.
Speakers for the event include a custom interactive video created for this forum by former Montreal Canadiens legend Ryan Walter, Osoyoos Indian Band Chief Clarence Louie, former NHL coach Kevin Primeau and past chair of Aboriginal Tourism B.C. Brenda Baptiste.
