If you have an interest in aviation or are just looking for one of the best breakfasts in town, the Oliver airport will be your best bet when the South Okanagan Flying Club holds its annual Fly-In Breakfast on August 17.

Club president Victor Seder said the event typically draws nearly 300 people, and as many as 70 aircraft from British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan.

He attributes the breakfast’s popularity to the quality of the breakfast itself and the hard work of the volunteers and club members who organize and execute the event.

“It’s our biggest event, and it’s always been well-supported because it’s fun, it’s a really affordable breakfast and a great excuse for pilots and enthusiasts to get out and promote the club in a positive way,” said Seder.

Seder said the flying club holds the event to create more interest in aviation and promote the Oliver Airport. He added that he would like to continue to grow the event and hopes residents will continue to support the airport.

The breakfast will be held at the Clubhouse/terminal building.

Breakfast is served from 9 – 11 am and includes eggs, waffles, ham, coffee, juice and fresh fruit.

Admission is $8 per person. Proceeds from the event go to the South Okanagan Flying Club.
