It’s time to dust off your dancing shoes because the Osoyoos Street Dance is kicking off with its first groove of the season on July 13.

Now in its 33rd year, the event is hosted by Clint Hawes. Hawes took over the event seven years ago from the Sologuk family and Osoyoos Home Hardware, who ran the dances for 26 years.

Although the dance no longer takes place on 85th Street beside Home Hardware, it’s still known as the Osoyoos Street Dance.

Hawes plays a mix of hits, ranging from fun and new tunes for the kids to the rocking classics for the adults, so that everyone can hit the dance floor.

Dancers can also try out hula hoops and jump ropes, and take home prizes from local merchants.

The event takes place at the Gyro Park bandshell on July 13 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Another Street Dance will take place on August 17.
