Not soon after taking part in Friday night’s Christmas Light-Up in Oliver, firefighters were called to a reported kitchen fire in a house at 5925 Nicola Street.
There was no visible flame when the Chronicle arrived, but firemen had to use a large fan to air out the residence. There was no report of serious injuries or how the fire started.
