The Osoyoos Fire Rescue (OFR) responded to a structure fire at approximately 11:30 a.m. today (July 22) in the 8000 block of Spartan Drive with two engines, four support units and 18 firefighters.
In a social media post the OFR said that upon arrival, smoke was visible from the roof area on the three story town home.
“Crews quickly made entry locating the fire on the third floor. The fire was extinguished with damage being contained to the immediate area.”
The OFR noted that that the lone occupant of the home was treated for minor burns and transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The fire remains under investigation and the fire department reminds residents that should you encounter a fire, leave the area immediately, closing all doors behind you and to call 911.
