The light was perfect Sunday evening when a small film crew led by budding director Haiderali Ajmeri shot a scene at the Osoyoos Airport.
The crew is making a short hitchhiking comedy called “Two Thumbs Up” about a naive young man headed to Los Angeles who picks up a hitchhiker. The hitchhiker happens to be wearing an orange jumpsuit and handcuffs.
Ajmeri and his crew were glowing about the Osoyoos setting and its gorgeous scenery.
Their only real challenge was that the first two nights they underestimated the time to get their shots before the sun dropped below the mountain, completely changing the light.
Ajmeri hopes to make more films in Osoyoos.
“I would love to,” he said. “We have been so fortunate here in terms of getting locations and everything has been really convenient for us.”
He thanked the town for making the airstrip available.
