Environment Canada meteorologists have issued a “Yellow Warning” as they are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts and heavy rain as at 6:12 p.m.
A cluster of thunderstorms southwest of Crawston, Keremeos, and Highway 1 are moving slowly towards the northeast.
The weather agency is advising to take immediate cover if a thunderstorm approaches. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris.
Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain. Environment Canada urges residents to continue to monitor alerts and forecasts it issues.
The latest update follows one at 3:42 p.m. this afternoon that advised conditions were favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms.
