EASTER FESTIVITIES AGAIN SHOW COMMUNITY SPIRIT
Once again, Osoyoos people have shown their amazing community spirit.
Easter Eggstravaganza was a success from beginning to end “ and that's testimony not only to the industriousness and skill of the organizers, which is tremendous, but also to the enthusiasm, pride in community, and, yes, Spirit, of everyone in our town.
Despite a cool, windy day that threatened rain, hundreds of parents and youngsters turned out for the Easter Egg Hunt, which saw organizers seed the elementary school grounds with more than 3,000 little chocolate eggs.
Likewise, countless others staffed booths and fish-ponds and face-painting stands and an inflatable air-bouncer play area on the grounds of Town Hall.
Then there were all those who prepared floats and themselves for participation in the 13th annual Easter Parade.
And let's not forget the Lions who cooked and served up the pancakes-and-sausages breakfast, and Councillors Alan Carswell and Stu Wells who spent the day in bunny suits, helping everyone have a good time along the way.
It's times like last Saturday's Eggstravaganza that remind us that, besides the climate, the ecology, the lake and other local amenities, what truly makes Osoyoos special is the wonderful spirit of its people.
