Dosanjh's comments just more of the same arrogance
B.C. MP Ujjal Dosanjh, who also happens to be the health minister, is a perfect example of what is wrong with the federal Liberal Party.
Last week, Dosanjh basically threatened B.C. voters that promises of funding made under the current, but yet unpassed federal budget, would not go through if an election is forced upon the Liberal minority government.
The reason for what seems to be an inevitable federal election is the controversy coming out of the Gomery Inquiry, which is looking into the Sponsorship Scandal.
That scandal almost cost Paul Martin the Prime Minister's job last year, and is threatening to do it again this year as testimony coming out of the inquiry continues to show an abuse of taxpayers' money and trust beyond anything this country has ever seen before.
But instead of some semblence of humility based on what has happened, Dosanjh instead chose to use the opportunity provided to him by the media to make a threat to voters in B.C. What an absolute disgrace.
This is why the Liberal Party has lost the moral ability to govern this country. Its arrogance and corruption is evident by the entire Sponsorship Scandal and now even the newest members of party (Dosanjh) have adopted that arrogance.
There is no question the Liberals need to be held accountable for this scandal, and perhaps a quick election is the only way.
Dosanjh's comments only further show just how ignorant the Liberal Party must be of Canadians' anger over the Sponsorship Scandal.
