Doctors are optimistic that Cody, the 8 year-old boy who was burned in the RV fire August 28, may be out of intensive care by Monday, according to the boy’s grandparents. It was reported that Cody had surgery on his right arm today (August 29), and is scheduled for lung surgery tomorrow, August 30; there appears to be a piece of glass in his lung.
Cody suffered second-degree burns to approximately 40 per cent of his upper body while he was trapped inside his family’s motorhome in Centennial RV Park.
Rob Graham, media relations officer for the Oliver Fire Department said the child was rescued by Fire Chief Dan Skaros and flown to a hospital burn unit in Vancouver for treatment.
