When regional district chair Karla Kozakevich and Area C director Rick Knodel begin talking about ways to assist local citizens struggling to put food on the table during the pandemic, things start to happen.
Kozakevich reported that Knodel has provided a $6,000 grant in aid to the local food bank and has also donated personally.
The chair said they are going to work on a region-wide fundraiser for local food banks.
“That would include collecting donations of food, pet food and money to go to the food banks in our communities,” she said.
Kozakevich said they would like to include member municipalities and in hopes they could be a collection point. “Also, it may encourage some food collection and/or fundraising in our rural communities.”
