The deadline for dog owners to license their dogs with the Town of Osoyoos is Jan. 31.

The Town of Osoyoos requires pet owners to register their dogs annually, and dog licenses need to be renewed by Jan. 31.

All dogs over the age of six months are required by bylaw to be licensed, even if they are indoor pets.

Dog licenses with up to date information ensure that the Town can contact pet owners if their dog is found.

Fees for licenses are $12 for spayed or neutered dogs, and $22 for dogs that are not spayed or neutered.

The fine for having an unlicensed dog is $50.

Dogs found at large without a license could bring in a $100 fine, while those with a license would see a $30 impoundment fee for the first offence.

Licenses can be purchased at the Town of Osoyoos office at 8707 Main Street.

For regional district areas, licenses are $20 for spayed or neutered dogs, $50 for not spayed or neutered dogs, and available at rdos.bs.ca or at the RDOS office in Penticton.
