DSC_2336From left, the Oliver Legion’s Sergeant at Arms Jim Stewart prepares to raise the Canadian Forces flag in observance of the veteran’s of Canada’s Afghan mission on on May 9. Following a Royal proclamation in March, May 9 was declared a National Day of Honour  as a tribute to the 158 Canadians, from our military, diplomatic corps and civilian workers, who lost their lives during the 12-year Afghanistan mission. More than 40,000 personnel travelled to the country over the course of that mission. Pictured here with Stewart are, from left, Jo Tanner, Blaine Krist and Chris Yerburgh.
