Oliver firefighters have contained a brush fire near a home on Fruitvale Way north of Osoyoos.
The call came in around 3:30 p.m. when a small fire near a residence opposite Road 21 expanded to a reported size of approximately 200 feet by 200 feet.
Firefighters were considering calling air support but it was not needed after crews flanked the fire and stopped it from spreading. Forestry crews have been called in to mop up the blaze.
The cause has yet to be confirmed, and no injuries were reported.
