A failure to produce with a man advantage proved to be the downfall of the Osoyoos Coyotes as a four-game winning streak came to an abrupt halt in Revelstoke this past Saturday evening.

The Coyotes failed to score on eight power plays as they fell 4-1 to the hometown Grizzlies.

On a more positive note, the Coyotes’ didn’t appear to eat too much turkey, stuffing and gravy as they rebounded with an impressive 7-1 victory over the visiting Sicamous Eagles Sunday night at the Sun Bowl Arena in Osoyoos to get back on the winning track.

Revelstoke scored two goals with the man advantage to snap the Coyotes’ winning streak.

Kyle Baron of the Grizzlies scored the first goal of the game on the power play eight minutes into the contest to give Revelstoke a lead they would never surrender.

Kyle Berry scored late in the first period to extend the lead to 2-0.

Aaron Aragon scored another power play goal halfway through the second period to extend the lead to 3-0.

Judd Repole made things interesting with a goal late in the second period to narrow the lead to 3-1, but that would turn out to be the only offence the Coyotes could muster on this night.

Brady Mende scored the only goal of the third period to round out the scoring.

Back on home ice Sunday night, the Coyotes jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period and were never threatened against Sicamous.

Jake Hryhoriw opened the scoring for the Coyotes less than four minutes into the game. Colin Bell scored two goals four minutes apart to extend the lead to 3-0.

Captain Rainer Glimpel continued his torrid scoring pace as he netted a power play marker midway through the second period.

Sicamous scored their only goal of the contest late in the second period.

Reid Wilson, Braeden Tuck and Rainer Glimpel scored for the Coyotes in the third period to extend the lead to 7-1.

As he has on numerous occasions early in the season, Glimpel was selected as the Coyotes star of the game.

The weekend split allowed the Coyotes to remain in first place in their division with a solid record of six wins, two losses and one overtime loss.

The Coyotes will play three games this week.

They play host to the Summerland Steam, who are in second place in the Okanagan Division of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League, Wednesday evening at the Sun Bowl Arena.

The Coyotes will be on the road this weekend as they travel to 100 Mile House Friday night, before travelling to Chase Saturday evening.
