Town council has given the aviation thumbs up to Transwest Helicopters Ltd. for construction of a new hangar/paint booth at the airport.
In 2013 the Town entered into a lease with the company for the lot located next to Transwest’s existing building.
The proposal will see the construction of a new paint spray room and a hangar, which will be used to store some of the company’s equipment that is currently stored outside.
Mayor Ron Hovanes noted that Transwest employs nearly 50 people right now.
