The Town of Osoyoos is reminding Canada Day/Cherry Fiesta goers that the annual Canada Day Cherry Fiesta Water Fight with the Firefighters starts at 10:50 a.m. on July 1, before the main parade (and unofficially at the end of the parade when the fire trucks return to close out the parade).
The designated water zone will be located at Home Hardware where water blasters can be refilled.
The Osoyoos Festivals Society is also asking that everyone help keep the event safe and enjoyable by leaving water balloons at home. Water balloons can cause injuries and create litter that is difficult to clean up, the Society highlighted.
Ken Baker, Osoyoos Festivals Society President said the fireworks display is all set to go and will be put on by the same company as last year – Archangel Fireworks Inc. When asked what to expect, Baker said “they’re going to be great!”
