Getting up before 6 am and heading down to Medici’s to see a live recording of CBC Daybreak is not many people’s cup of coffee. But it was for some this morning.
In fact, it was a full house as hosts Chris Walker and Alya Ramadan prompted much applause by delivering the news and interviewing several locals.
Walker interviewed Mayor Ron Hovanes and businessman Dennis Munckhof about crime in the neighbourhood, and also talked to Brian Amos about Mount Baldy Ski Hill.
Information was given about a fire prevention plan in Oliver, and Parks and Recreation Manager Carol Sheridan was interviewed about the tensions between fruit pickers and local residents, and the plans afoot to ease the conflict.
Suha Alkhaled was also interviewed about Syrian refugees and the new family in Oliver.
