 The Town of Oliver has hired former corporate officer Cathy Cowan as the new chief administrative officer.
A familiar face is returning to the Town of Oliver as the new chief administrative officer (CAO).
Former corporate officer Cathy Cowan, a dedicated local government professional with over 24 years’ experience in local government, will commence her employment with the Town of Oliver on February 29.
At its December 21st meeting, Town council approved Cowan’s appointment to the position of CAO. Cowan currently holds the position of CAO at the Village of Keremeos and was selected out of a large number of experienced candidates that applied for the position.
“Previous to her current position, Cowan was the corporate officer at the Town of Oliver and has a proven track record in both municipalities and regional districts,” stated Mayor Ron Hovanes. “With Ms. Cowan’s knowledge and understanding of the Town, she will be able to jump right into the role and assist council with their major initiatives! We sincerely welcome Cathy back to the Town of Oliver.”
Cowan said she is excited to return to the Town of Oliver and feels privileged to work with the mayor, council and staff as the they move ahead to meet their strategic objectives. “I plan on relocating to Oliver in the new year and am looking forward to becoming involved in the community.”
