Basketball BC has announced the recipients of the Basketball BC Baden/Big Kahuna
Coaching Award.
Included on that list – Casey Brouwer from Osoyoos Secondary School.
Nominated by a player and a parent, Casey developed the high school team over many years resulting in an appearance at provincials this year. As said in his nomination “He has dedication and he treats everyone equally and drives us hard but fair. His goal was to develop a basketball program based on heart, and he did it.”
“I am honoured to have been selected for this award. Thank you to those who nominated me,” responded Brouwer. “It is great to have the support of the players and their families. All the hours and hard work have paid off. This award will be a continued reminder that what I am doing has value. I look forward to many more seasons. GO RATTLERS!”
The other coaches honoured include Tim Carkner from Richmond and Aaron Smith from Salmon Arm.
