Half a dozen Osoyoos residents took to the streets earlier today in a display of Canadian pride in the face of ongoing tensions with American president Donald Trump, his trade war against Canada and threats of annexation.

The Canadian flag-waving rally with chants of “go Canada go” took place on Main St. at the intersection in front of Shoppers Drug Mart and saw motorists honking their horns in a show of support.

Organized by Osoyoos resident Martha Collins, the idea is to show pride and support Canadian products and businesses.

Collins is hoping to repeat the show of pride each Wednesday at 1 p.m.
