Seeing 15 new homes built in the Town of Oliver in one year is a good sign, according to council.
That was the sentiment expressed by the mayor of Oliver at a recent meeting.
The 2014 year-end building permit summary shows a total of 63 permits issued, with a total construction value of $7.2 million.
There were 15 new residential permits issued, with a new residential value of $4.6 million.
There were 22 commercial permits issued, with a commercial value of $935,900.
“Everyone has been waiting for the economy to turn around,” said Mayor Ron Hovanes, who noted that 15 homes is a significant investment.
