With masks at the ready, students and staff in School District No. 53 head back to school today.
Under new guidelines, students in Grade 4 through 12 are mandated to wear masks in school, including classrooms and on buses. Pupils in kindergarten to Grade 3 are not required to wear masks.
At SOSS in Oliver this morning, staff were outside greeting students with hand sanitizer and masks.
Meanwhile, the BC Teachers’ Federation has expressed concern that more should be done to protect teachers and students during the pandemic.
