A phone call from Osoyoos Elementary School on Sept. 9 informing her that the school will be offering full-day kindergarten put parent Angela Stuart in a very good mood last week.
“Sweet” was the word she used to describe the news.
“I’m very pleased about this.”

British Columbians will be going to the polls one year from now to help decide the fate of the controversial harmonized sales tax.
On Sept. 13, the Standing Committee on Legislative Initiatives decided that B.C. residents will have their say on whether the provincial government should get rid of the HST through a referendum to take place on Sept. 24, 2011.

Osoyoos’s leaders will be taking their concerns about the large population of Canadian geese in town to the upcoming Union of British Columbia Municipalities (UBCM) convention in Whistler.

It’s called the Water Conservation Plan and it’s intended to bring about more efficient use of Osoyoos’s water resources in order to provide capacity for new growth consistent with provincially defined standards.
Developing the plan is a step that must be carried out in order to receive future infrastructure grant funds from higher levels of government, states the plan.
