The Rotary Club of Oliver Southern Okanagan Secondary School Student of the Month for November 2024 is Anissa Khodarahmi.
According to her teachers, she is “An active member of our grade 10 class, Anissa is busy both in our school community and in the community of Oliver. Her charitable heart is always open and offering to help others.
“Anissa’s neighbours receive her kindness as she and her family help care for the home to ease the burden on the elderly couple. Local charities benefit from her generosity as she involves herself with donations to Oliver Food Bank, SORCO and the United Church.
“Anissa also participates in the Mt. Baldy community as she helps with garbage clean-up to help keep the area shining.
“She is an accomplished member of the SOSS community as she excels in her academics, in participation in athletics, and is always one of our loudest, and most spirited, Hornets.
“The Student of the Month is chosen according to the following criteria: The students are to be in grade 10 and exemplify service over self whether that be in the school community or the greater community.”
The Rotary Club of Oliver provides each Student of the Month recognition at SOSS with their name added to the Student of the Month plaque as well as a personal plaque and a $100 gift certificate of their choice.
